Anna Quon is a Mad writer, workshop facilitator and sometime filmmaker living in Kjipuktuk (Halifax) with her nonagenarian Dad and several ailing houseplants. Quon has worked and volunteered with the non-profit sector for most of her career. As a writer, she has traditionally published three novels and one slim volume of poems, has received several poetry commissions from the CBC Creators’ Network, and is currently HRM’s Poet Laureate until April 2027. Quon admits that self-publishing her own poetry zines and creating simply animated films of her poems has, though messy, sparked the most joy.
