Speakers

  • Mark Anthony Jarman's latest book is Smash & Grab. Burn Man, his Selected Stories, was published by Biblioasis Press and was a 2024 Editors' Choice with The New York Times. He is also the author of Touch Anywhere to Begin, Czech Techno, Knife Party at the Hotel Europa, 19 Knives, and the travel book Ireland's Eye. He has published in journals across Europe, Asia, and North America. He is a graduate of The Iowa Writers' Workshop, a Yaddo Fellow, and a fiction editor for Camel, a new literary journal in Canada.

  • KAIE KELLOUGH is a poet, fiction writer, and sound performer living in Montreal. His previous collection, Magnetic Equator, won the 2020 Griffin Poetry Prize. He is a writer and vocalist for the group FYEAR and is pursuing graduate work in English at Queen’s University.

  • Jennifer LoveGrove (she/her) is a writer of poetry, fiction and nonfiction, a literary editor and a collage artist. Her most recent book is the critically-acclaimed poetry collection The Tinder Sonnets (Book*hug, 2026). She is also the author of the Giller Prize-longlisted novel Watch How We Walk, as well as three poetry collections: Beautiful Children with Pet Foxes (longlisted for the Raymond Souster Award), I Should Never Have Fired the Sentinel, and The Dagger Between Her Teeth. For the Meet the Presses Collective, she is a member-volunteer and co-curated 2023 Indie Literary Market. She divides her time between downtown Toronto and Squirrel Creek Retreat in rural Ontario.

  • Ruth Ozeki is a novelist, filmmaker, and Zen Buddhist priest. She is the bestselling author of four novels: The Book of Form and Emptiness, winner of the UK's 2022 Women's Prize for Fiction; My Year of Meats; All Over Creation; and A Tale for the Time Being, which won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and was a finalist for the 2013 Booker Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Her nonfiction work includes a memoir, The Face: A Time Code, and the documentary film Halving the Bones. A longtime Buddhist practitioner, Ruth is affiliated with the Everyday Zen Foundation. She is now professor emerita of English language and literature at Smith College, where she was the Grace Jarcho Ross 1933 Professor of Humanities.

  • Sharon Bala's second novel, Good Guys, was published in 2026. Publishers Weekly calls it “quietly profound” and a “blackly comic tale.” Her best-selling debut novel, The Boat People, won a Newfoundland & Labrador Book Award and the Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction. It was short listed for several awards and is in translation in four languages. Sharon is the Creative Non-Fiction editor at Riddle Fence Magazine and a member of The Port Authority, a St. John's writing group.
